The
Tanzania Adventure program provides volunteers and interns with a 3 day
tour of famous Lake Manyara,
Arusha and Tarangire
national parks.
A Typical two weeks schedule of the Adventure package looks as follows:

Day
1:
Arrival, registration and introduction to the program in Arusha
Day 2:
Orientation
to the program with 2-4 hour lecture on the history, culture
and
lifestyle of Tanzania. Afternoon is free.
Day 3-9:
Placement
with host family and beginning of Volunteer or Internship phase which
entails placement with the allocated project eg orphanage.
Day
10-12: Tanzania Rift Valley Wilderness Safari: (3 Days)
In
Tanzania’s greatest Rift Valley wilderness parks adventurous
volunteers
and overseas interns will encounter over 450 bird species, and numerous
species of animals including gazelles; impala; buffalo; wildebeest; the
famous tree climbing lion; hyena; baboon; giraffe; hippopotamus, lions,
leopards, elephants, rhinos, zebras, thousands of wildebeests, etc.
Day
10: Arusha: Arusha National
Park is a rich tranquil wilderness habitat, teeming with
animals
and birds. From the lush swamps of the Ngurdoto Crater to the serene
beauty of the Momela lakes and the rocky alpine heights of Mount Meru,
the terrain of the park is as varied as it is interesting. Major
animals seen at the park include Zebras, and leopards, black-and-white
colobus monkey, klipspringer antelopes, and more than 400 species of
birds.
Volunteers
and interns can hike up Mount Meru passing through forests of Spanish
moss and clover, before peaking at the open heath, spiked with giant
lobelia plants. Majestic Kilimanjaro can be seen clearly from the Meru
summit.
Day
11: Lake Manyara: After
about 9 days of work, its time to have fun - overseas volunteers and
Africa interns on this program leave Moshi, early morning and proceed
to Lake Manyara National Park for game drive. Picnic lunch en-route,
dinner and overnight at Campsite.
Day
12: Tarangire-Moshi:
Morning drive from Karatu to the Tarangire National Park. This park is
spectacular in the dry season when many of the migratory wildlife
species come back to the permanent waters of Tarangire River. Huge
herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, elands and oryx gather to stay
in Tarangire until the onset of the rain when they migrate again. In
the late afternoon drive back to Moshi.
Day
13:
Break, free day. Program Evaluation.
Day 14:
Farewell
and Departure.

Unless
otherwise provided, all our Tanzania safaris are basic
camping safaris
and accommodation is in shared safari tents. Volunteers and
international interns who would like a more luxurious safari should
contact us for special arrangements- which will inevitably cost more.
The Precise schedule of the trips may be changed to fit into local
circumstances. At least two parks will be covered.
Dar es Salaam Moshi
Transport:
For Dar es Salaam based
clients, transport
between Moshi (starting point of the safaris) and Dar es Salaam and any
accommodation en-route are covered. On average the flight costs
about USD 200.00; hotels go for USD 35 per night with bed and
breakfast.

local hostels and are provided two local meals per day; breakfast and
dinner.
Transportation:
Volunteer
and internship placements in Tanzania
are
within walking distance of the host home. You can also take local
public transport to and from your volunteer project work. The cost will
normally not exceed USD 1.00 per day.
Safari
Transportation:
Those taking the adventures from Dar will get assistance to arrange
travel between Dar and Moshi for the adventure tours. Cost of this
transport is on the client and would normally not exceed USD
100
by
shuttle bus and USD 200 by air. Both modes of transport are normally
good and reliable.
Schedule
of work:
Normally Mondays
to Fridays; 4 – 8 hours a day. Most weekends are free to
explore Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Age Limit: 18 and
above, from all countries of origin and
residence. Persons under 18 are allowed provided they must be
accompanied by someone aged 21 and above who will
be a
guardian or community leader such as a school shaperon, priest etc.
Length
of
Program: We have
volunteer
abroad and international internship opportunities for long term,
short-term periods and for groups. You
can volunteer or intern for a minimum
of two (2) weeks to 6 months with possibilities for one year placements
for the right candidates.
Groups:
Groups of more than two people are
guaranteed a group discount.
