Africa Nature
Conservation Internships
We
have a number
of environmental and nature conservation
projects involving forests , animals, parks, birds and
wilderness conservation in East Africa. International interns
will work in the company and under the supervision of East
African
staff.
Nature
internship work may entail examining birds or other animals
from
the ground,
following their
migratory patterns, identify living, feeding, breeding and
other habits, the challenges posed by human activities plus other
factors that impede on the survival of the birds or animals.
International interns use
existing literature and the help of African college
professors to identify animals and/or birds by name.
In
other countries of Africa, nature internship work overseas entails
the field study of
indigenous trees, their
population dynamics, regeneration, survival constraints etc mainly by
examination.
Nature internship abroad may also entail other
duties
including maintaining
nature trails, planting and maintaining tree nurseries and
distribution tree seedlings to the local community; maintaining
community nature parks including keeping them clean and clear of fallen
tree trunks and litter.
Overseas interns in nature and environment
conservation will be expected to work for
between 3 to 8
hours a day.
