Jubilee Ventures is a program of Africa Development Consortium (AFRIDEC), registered in Kenya. Our mission is to work in partnership with local communities to champion and foster community development and nature conservation. Among the things we do in pursuit of this goal is to provide opportunities for people to participate in international volunteer and internship work.

Since March 2003, Jubileeventures.org has been providing long term, short term and group placements abroad. Our Programs are suitable for international volunteering, overseas internships and gap year abroad and adventure touring. Placement is available in many areas of interest including teaching, dental care, medical work, working with children in orphanages, animal welfare, nature conservation, bird study, HIV and AIDS, etc. We operate in East Africa including Kenya, Tanzania Mainland and the Island of Zanzibar. Meet Our Country Coordinators

Kenya: Becki Wangari our Coordinator in Kenya is a graduate of Business Studies. Becki has worked with us for the last two years. She was and tutor and administrator with an IT college before joining us.

Zanzibar and Tanzania: Zanzibar resident Omary Shaaban is our Coordinator in Tanzania Mainland and the Island of Zanzibar . Omary enjoys working with the urban and rural marginalized communities. He also manages a tour company in Zanzibar and will be more than willing to arrange tours for you during your free time.

He says; if you are volunteering with us in Tanzania or Zanzibar Island, please remember to bring your enthusiasm, sense of humor, curiosity and desire to have fun. You will learn a lot about a great variety of things.

Placement Opportunities Abroad in Africa

Jubileeventures.org has a range of exciting voluntary service abroad opportunities and overseas internship placements to choose from in Africa. You can work a number of project areas including teaching, volunteering with children , medical and other health care voluntary work , dental care voluntary service, nature conservation volunteering, volunteering with HIV & AIDS in Africa, volunteering with animals and more.

Combinations of Programs Available

International voluntary service work and internship abroad opportunities are provided under six different sub-programs: the Standard Volunteer or Internship programs, Language and Culture Program and the Adventure Africa, and the Africa Beach Holiday Expeditions among others. You can spice up your experience by combining volunteer abroad or internship overseas work with any one or a number of the other programs.

Other Program Highlights

Arrival and Starting Dates: 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every Month

Your Airport Arrival Time: Any time of that Wednesday, preferably by 9 PM. Our staff will arrange to pick you up at the airport for free.

Accommodation and Meals: Africa overseas volunteers and interns abroad stay with carefully selected host families and sometimes in local hostels and are provided two local meals per day; breakfast and dinner while you are away from home for project work and three meals while you are at home.

Transportation: International volunteer and overseas internship placements in Africa are within walking distance of the host home. You can also take local public transport to and from your volunteer project work. The cost will normally not exceed USD 1.5 per day.

Schedule of work: Normally Mondays to Fridays; 3 – 8 hours a day. Most weekends are free to explore East Africa.

Age Limit: The Jubilee Ventures overseas volunteer and international internships in Africa are open to people of all countries of origin and residence.

Our entry age for unaccompanied persons is 18. We allow persons younger than 18 to participate in our programs under certain circumstances, such as if they are part of a group, are accompanied by a sibling/family member, etc. Please contact us if you are under 18 and would like to participate in our programs.

Length of Program: We have volunteer abroad and international internship opportunities for long term, short-term periods and for groups. Groups of more than two people are guaranteed a group discount. You can volunteer or intern for a minimum of one (1) week to a maximum of one year.
